In this installment of Be Better Bettors, pro gambler Gadoon “Spanky” Kryollos talks about what it's like to bet sports, the trials and tribulations, and to show that this is not easy.
"99% of those listening to this, you're going to fall flat on their face. If you can't win, it doesn't matter," Spanky says.
"It's not easy to win. This is not a given. This is not an occupation that you go to work and are guaranteed a paycheck. You actually have to pick winners, bet and you have to win more than you lose. Very difficult to do this professionally."
Spanky notes that he and other pros are able to get past the obstacles, but it takes work.
"Winning is just the beginning. Once you know how to win, that's when the real challenge begins. Having to go through the struggles of losing. Can you handle that 45% when you are losing? Can you handle that rough week, two weeks, month, two month stretch where you haven't earned a penny. That is not inherent in us as people to work so hard and have nothing to show for it. That is the hardest thing, honestly."
