Democratic lawmakers will convene next week in the Meadowlands for the second meeting of the legislative gaming summit called by Senate President Stephen M. Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Sheila Y. Oliver to examine the recommendations of the Governor's Advisory Commission on Gaming, Sports and Entertainment.

The hearing, to be held at Pegasus West in the Meadowlands, will provide lawmakers with an opportunity to solicit input from stakeholders on horseracing, the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority and the stalled Xanadu project.

Legislators are planning a total of three fact finding meetings which bring together lawmakers, industry leaders and policy experts to publicly examine the recommendations of the Governor's advisory commission, which were released in July. The first forum was held last month in Atlantic City and dedicated in large part to discussing the state's gaming industry.

Senator Jim Whelan (D-Atlantic) and Assemblyman John Burzichelli (D-Gloucester) are leading the discussions. In addition to the co chairs, the Senate President and the Assembly Speaker, lawmakers participating in the talks include Senators Raymond J. Lesniak (D-Union), Paul Sarlo (D-Bergen, Essex, Passaic) and Jeff Van Drew (D-Cape May, Atlantic, Cumberland) and Assembly members Ralph Caputo (D-Essex), Matthew W. Milam (D-Cumberland, Atlantic, Cape May) and Connie Wagner (D-Bergen).

The meeting will be held Friday, Sept. 10 at 10AM, at Pegasus West, Meadowlands Racetrack, Meadowlands Sports Complex, 50 Route 120, East Rutherford, NJ.
