Two New Counts Against Bonanno Mobster Suspected in 1978 JFK Heist

A one time high ranking member of the Bonanno Crime Family suspected in a 1978 heist at JFK Airport has received two additional undisclosed charges against him.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicole Argentieri did not reveal the nature of the two new counts reputed capo Vincent Asaro, 79, will be facing.

The heist was depicted in the popular mob drama “Goodfellas” and involved a $6 million theft at the airport.

Bonanno is also charged with murder of mob associate Paul Katz, which was said to have been carried out as a favor favor to Luchese mobster James (Jimmy the Gent) Burke.
