Gambling911.com has learned that attorneys representing an individual claiming to be owed substantial monies from American Pharoah owner Ahmed Zayat at one time requested the assistance of the U.S. Homeland Security citing that the debts owed were to offshore gambling operatives.

The correspondence makes mention of Zayat’s claim during the deposition that a special agent advised him to “cease and desist from making further payments to one Howard Rubinsky” in regard to said gambling debts allegedly owed and totaling around $2 million.  Rubinsky acted on behalf of offshore gambling companies according to a filed complaint.

The correspondence goes on to note that, in Rubinsky’s conversations with the special agent in question that said agent claims never have to requested Zayat “cease and desist from making payments to Mr. Rubinsky”.

The correspondence goes on to note that Zayat then denied such a conversation ever took place between he and the special agent because “he enthusiastically denies the indebtedness”.

Third-party testimony of the special agent is requested as part of the inquiry.  Gambling911.com cannot immediately verify if such a request was ever granted or if it could be in the future.

The exact date of the letter does not appear, however, the documents in question were filed December 16, 2014 and references the upcoming holiday season.

Court documents show at one time that agents from the FBI, Homeland Security and the Nevada Gaming board visited Mr. Zayat’s office in New Jersey on May 8, 2008.

In another deposition taken Nov. 19, 2014, Mr. Rubinsky said at one point that Mr. Zayat had offered to pay him $1 million if he told the offshore sportsbook he allegedly owed monies to that he had died in a car accident.

The letter in question requesting the US special agent's declaration as to what he did or did not tell Mr. Zayat does show the extent the plaintiff is willing to go to try and prove Zayat’s indebtedness.

Zayat’s horse is set to run in the Belmont Stakes next month and could become the first Triple Crown winner in over 40 years.

Football is king in Texas. We won't pretend to suggest another sport reigns superior despite every major league having one or more teams in the Lone Star State. San Antonio may be a rare exception to the rule....and there's a new sheriff in town to give the Spurs a run for their money.
