‘Deal or No Deal’ Dealt Lifeline From Gambling Ban

Regulators have saved one of Great Britain’s beloved quiz shows “Deal or No Deal” by backing off of imposing gambling restrictions on it and other similar shows.

The Daily Mail initially reported last month that both “Deal or No Deal” and “Red or Black” had come under intense scrutiny by regulators.  Action will not be taken against either programmes for the time being.

A 2005 Gambling Act requires all games with prizes must have an element of skill in them.
According to the Daily Mail, producers feared they would have to change the format of their shows and spend up to £60,000 on acquiring gaming licences.
