Lucky charms are commonly used by casino gamblers. These differ based on region and culture.

Some of the more common lucky charms include, and in no particular order:

Rabbit’s foot - certainly not lucky for the rabbit.

Four leaf clover

Wishbone

Horseshoe - maybe a little too obvious in a physical casino.

Ladybugs

Below we examine 5 of the most tried and true luck-driven forces when gambling online or at a casino, with feedback from Reddit users.

This Might Explain Why Asians Are Such Good Gamblers

Red is considered a color of luck, wealth, and protection in Chinese culture.

Red is the color of blood and fire, both of which represent life, energy, and survival.

From Reddit user OlfactoryNYC:

Colors can symbolize many things such as emotions, concepts, and even cardinal directions. For example the color red can mean love, danger, luck, south, or west depending on context and what culture you're from. What do the different colors symbolize for the cultures in your world and why?

While we are on the subject of Asia, in many parts of the continent—especially in China—the number 8 is considered extremely lucky.  Be creative and carry around eight red rabbits feet.  Can't hurt...unless you're the rabbit.

The Lucky Four Leaf Clover....But You Might Be Able to Settle for Five Leaves

You don't have to be Irish to love and respect the lucky clover.

Only about 1 in 5,000 clovers has four leaves, making it naturally associated with luck.

The lucky charm's luck symbolism goes back to Celtic traditions, where it was believed to ward off evil spirits.

PrincessLovebug1016 on Reddit swears by them....and they don't necessarily have to be four leaf:

I always pick them and say a little intention to bring me/my household good luck while I press them in a book to dry. A few weeks ago I found and picked a five leaf clover and since I brought it into the house with a prayer we have been having some really lucky, positive changes around here (knock on wood). I think it is more about the intention set in the mind that makes the object meaningful and powerful, and I don't mean that to ignore, lessen, or negate the very real energies that exist in the objects around us. If a finding a four leaf clover makes you feel lucky and therefore confident, chances are you will behave in ways that will reflect those feelings therefore bringing positivity, luck, and general awesomeness into your day. So, I would totally put it in a spell jar or simply put it in your wallet especially if it feels right to do so.

Lucky Coins

Coins from certain years, countries, or with symbolic engravings (like Chinese coins with a square hole) are believed to attract wealth and good fortune.

When considering specific coins look to the Chinese Feng Shui with its round shape representing heaven as well as wealth and prosperity, an American Lucky Penny (Head Side Up) and even the British Sovereign Coin.

Whether Chinese Feng Shui coins "really" bring luck is subjective but, according to Wikipedia at least, Feng Shui coins are supposed to attract prosperity

As a rule of thumb, supposedly only the rich believe in Feng Shui, well, that's what one Reddit named lingcw suggests.

Have you noticed something odd? The rich believe in feng shui, but the average person doesn’t.

And this is the reason i go after feng shui master advice, and i have a story to tell.

I am stock options buyer, and since last year, there were 2 different feng shui master advised me to stop trading this year, and i must cut all my position and wait for next year, the fruitful year.

I listened to them and i cut all position in early to mid january (back then the stock market sentiment already quite in a panic mode). Feng shui also told me the good thing to buy is bond (until end of April).

Look at today's US market, if and only if i refuse to listen the advice, my loss will be approximately extra 70% on my selling price.

And of course they have more advice for me for year 2025, and pretty sure i will avoid trading until November

As for the American penny, which could one day become obsolete as far as mass distribution, even though it's only one cent, coins historically represent wealth.

This 'small money, big potential' concept has influenced modern gambling culture, with sites like NoDepositNinja documenting how players can start with literally no money down. The psychology of 'free' money often feels luckier than risking your own.

Why is a Rabbit's Foot Considered to be Lucky?

Rabbits have long been associated with fertility, abundance, and renewal because of how quickly they reproduce. But as pointed out above, if a human happens to be carrying one, that particular rabbit probably wasn't very lucky.

Keep a Horseshoe Handy When Playing at an Online Casino

You probably don't want to be carrying a horseshoe around an actual casino.

In many European traditions, horseshoes were made of iron, which was believed to ward off evil spirits while the “U” shape of a horseshoe is often seen as a container for holding luck or good fortune.

Riccma02 on Reddit offered this anecdote as it pertains to horseshoes and luck:

Not all horseshoes give good luck. Only the ones that are removed after being worn out. If a horse shoe last long enough to be worn out, then that means it wasn’t lost to some other calamity, like the horse throwing a shoe.

There is also the story of St. Dunstan and the devil, in which St. Dunstan affixes a pair of horse shoes painfully to the devils cloven hooves. The devil then begs St. Dunstan to remove the shoes, which he does, provided the devil agrees to never enter a dwelling where a horseshoe has been hung.

The aptly named Dark_Grey_Prophet brought it back to the topic of iron.

Horseshoes are made of iron. Iron keeps vampires away from you, so they can't suck up your luck.
