As police attempted to take 23-year-old Michael Goodale into custody, he pointed a gun at the officers. An officer shot once at Goodale, who then fell from the garage and landed four stories down on the pavement below where he was pronounced dead on the scene.  Officers attempted to render aid to the armed suspect.

The incident took place in the Fox Tower Garage at approximately 11 am Tuesday morning.

Goodale had outstanding arrest warrants, according to law enforcement officials.
