High Volume Sunday Nights:

It is no secret that Sunday Night tends to be the most bet football game of the entire week. Gamblers are playing with house money and want to win more, or they are trying to dig themselves out of a hole with one final big bet. Sunday Night’s game between the Bears and the Texans was the highest volume game of the week for us by a factor of 2 or 3. The game falling on 6 points was a disaster for the us as there were bets on Bears +6.5 and Texans -6, which means we got somewhat middled. Bettors were also loving the under, and while it was a high scoring first half, they got away with the cash easily. Overall Sunday night was not a good night for the Sportsbook.

Big Bettor vs Small Bettors:

We saw this a lot this weekend in College Football, and the same can be applied for the NFL. The most prominent “Public” vs “Big Bettor” game was the Ravens Vs the Raiders. The Ravens had about 5 times more bets on them, but some big money players took the Raiders with the points. You tend to see this often in the NFL, with the public falling in love with teasing and parlaying favorites. With Oakland winning the game outright, this was a great result for the Sportsbook as all those teasers and parlays were wiped out in a hurry. The same exact thing can be said for the Cowboys vs Saints game, as we had a 3 to 1 bet count on the Cowboys. Big Bettors were happy to come in and scoop up the points with the Saints, and they ended up with the easy cash. As you can see, teasers and parlays of favorites are extremely popular during NFL season.

Nuggets and Injury Corner:

- The Broncos are really struggling to score with their new QB. The same exact thing can be said for the Bears. We will continue to see games with totals in the 30s for these teams, and honestly, we still won’t feel great writing under bets even at those low numbers. It is hard to watch.

-Key Injuries: Injuries are a key in what shapes an NFL line to be what it is on Sunday afternoon. So going forward, we wanted to point out some key injuries that happened yesterday so that you can use this info.

-Rams WR Cooper Kupp suffered an ankle injury in the first half and did not return. Kupp was seen

wearing a walking boot. This injury combined with Puka’s injury from last week will make things extremely hard on the Rams going forward. Potentially a team to look to fade or to look for unders on in the near future.

- KC Running Back Isiah Pacheco suffered an ankle injury and is undergoing tests on Monday. We will provide updates on him in our midweek look ahead article as he is a key piece to this KC offense.

- Rest easy Vikings fans, it appears that Justin Jefferson has avoided a serious injury in yesterday’s game. He is currently listed as day to day even though he did not return to the game yesterday, we expect him to be able to play next week.

-Chargers QB Justin Herbert did not miss a play on Sunday, but it is reported that he underwent X-Rays after their game against the Panthers. He reportedly got “Rolled up” in the second half. We will know more about his status in the upcoming days, but something to keep a close eye on.
