Can I Really Use a Sports Betting App From California?
Contrary to what you may see on search engines, there are currently no sports betting apps available from the great state of California. There are, however, browser-based websites that can be accessed and bets placed online. BetUS has been taking bets from those in California since 1994 (through call center wagering) and online since the late 1990's.
BetUS is Available From California
BetUS is a privately held online gambling company offering sports betting, esports betting, casino games, and horse racing. Because they are licensed internationally and do not operate directly from within the US, the sportsbook can cater to those in most of the 50 states.
California does not regulate sportsbooks and therefore BetUS cannot offer an app via any of the providers like Google Play or Apple.
Benefits of playing at BetUS include:
- Fastest payouts in the industry - 3 to 5 days or less (using cryptocurrencies)
- 125% signup bonus or a 200% signup bonus using cryptocurrenices
- Easy deposit and withdrawals using credit cards or crypto
- 24/7 personalized customer service
- Massive menu of betting options that include same-game parlays and player prop bets (including college) as well as specials, futures, novelty and political
- Live wagering
- Full race book for horse betting - tracks worldwide
- 300% buddy referral bonus
- Featuring a live dealer casino
PrizePick Does Have an App But is it Sports Betting?
PrizePick is now the market leader in Daily Fantasy Sports Betting. Well, they say it's not sports betting but the model clearly mimics player prop parlay wagering.
In Google Play, PrizePicks even stresses how the app can be downloaded in California.
It's called a "loophole" and some states are taking notice. Florida forced PrizePicks to stop offering some of its contests.
PrizePicks is an Atlanta-based company that must be doing something right to have gained market share over the early incarnations of DFS like FanDuel and DraftKings.
Benefits of playing at PrizePicks include:
- Ability to do so on an app
- Pick more or less on player projections
- Win real money up to $1000
- Instant payouts with secure withdrawals
- Wide range of sports but no college
With PrizePicks and similar product offerings you are limited to selecting between 2-6 player stats. 2 or 3 stats is the safest route, but 5 or 6 leads to higher potential payouts.
With a sportsbook site like BetUS, you can bet on a single player performance with the potential for a signficant payout. The March 9 board includes the day's most popular player pick of Nikola Jokic where you can bet the over/under on this phenom scoring 26.5 points. But also there are specific performance options that pay more.
29+ pays $124 for every $100 bet, 31+ pays $164 for every $100 bet, 33+ pays $216 for every $100 bet and 35+ pays $287 for every $100 bet.
DraftKings Also Has an App for California Customers But...
The DraftKings app is only for DFS, which technically is not sports betting, but it really is.
DraftKings actually offers its sportsbook app to California residents. You just can't bet on it for real money.
