Carolina jumped out to a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter of their Week 10 matchup. However, that touchdown would be the last points they scored. New Orleans led 10-7 at the half after Chris Olave scored a touchdown which he then repeated in the fourth quarter. New Orleans won 17-7 and sent 490 (27.7% of the remaining field) home.
Meanwhile, a more conventional favorite, Buffalo, had been picked by 261 entries to beat Miami. Despite a seemingly lopsided game, Buffalo’s offense could not get going. Miami led 16-0 at halftime, going on to win 30-13 therefore eliminating 14.8% of the remaining field.
In addition to the two teams that lost, Chicago gave 168 entries a scare against New York. New York held the lead for most of the game, with the score at 10-7 into halftime and 17-10 into the fourth quarter. However, Caleb Williams would scramble for a touchdown with under two minutes left to give Chicago a 24-20 lead. Chicago’s defense was able to hold on for the win. One contestant with ten individual entries left had all ten on Chicago. Despite the scare, ITSTARTSWITHABET has survived with all ten entries remaining.
When the dust cleared, 769 entries had been eliminated. In addition to those who picked Carolina and Buffalo, nine selected Cleveland, eight picked Tampa Bay and one was relying on Jacksonville. This brings the field down to 1,000 entries representing 5.3% of the initial field of 18,718. With a prize pool of $18,718,000, this means that each remaining entry has an implied value of $18,718.00.
In addition to the eliminations in Circa Survivor, there were eliminations in Circa Grandissimo. Four selected Buffalo and one picked Carolina. This brings the total entries remaining in the brand-new high-stakes contest down to six. With a prize pool of $6,900,000, each remaining entry is now worth $1,150,000.
