Detroit Lions MNF Win a Bust for BetOnline
Monday night's Lions-49ers game may not have meant much for San Francisco, but they still came out to play.
In the end, however, there just wasn't enough left in the gas tank and Detroit walked away with the win and cover.
Gamblers would go on to crush our friends at BetOnline.
Dave Mason posted what would become the damage early on.
$66,000 DET -220
$57,500 DET -3.5
$57,500 DET -3.5

$20,500 DET -205

As you can see above, there is clearly more yellow shading than not and all with larger dollar values. These were all wins by high stakes gamblers at BetOnline.
Detroit would go on to cover the -3 to -3.5 spread with a 6 point win.
Jared Goff threw three touchdown passes and the Lions tuned up for their Week 18 division showdown against Minnesota by beating the 49ers 40-34 on Monday night.
“That’s the only way we know. It's just go and find a way to win,” Goff said. "This is what ended our season last year. There’s a lot of guys on this team that were there last year that wanted to get one back on them even though in a lot of ways it was meaningless for them and it was meaningless for us."
The stakes for this game were miniscule compared to the last meeting between the teams when a berth in the Super Bowl was on the line last January.
Still, it was an important game for the Lions.
Next week's game between Detroit and Minnesota will still be meaningful and a bit of a tough pill to swallow for whomever loses in Week 18. The good news is that both teams - the Lions and Vikings - are in the playoffs already.
The winner gets it all, however, with an NFC North title crown and top seed in the NFC playoffs. The loser is relegated to being the first 14-win wild-card team in NFL history.
The line on that game opened at Lions -3 in Detroit and has since dropped to -2.5.
