FanDuel Launches PokerStars Network Across Three States, Bringing Sunday Million Back to US
Friday April 3, 2026 (6:40 pm EDT)
PokerStars emerged the same dark day the World Trade Center in NYC was hit by two planes. It was 9/11.
Since that time, the site emerged as the biggest online poker network online.
25 years later, PokerStars is shutting down its standalone app and website in U.S. regulated states and being merged into FanDuel. Both PokerStars and FanDuel are owned by Flutter Entertainment.
The new product will be branded something like “PokerStars exclusively on FanDuel.”
PokerStars exclusively on FanDuel merges player liquidity across three state markets, forming one of the "largest" regulated online poker networks in North America.
These states include Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Michigan, representing a total adult population nearing 25 million. That is nearly the entire population of Australia.
PokerStars exclusively on FanDuel will also be hosting two Sunday Million events on April 12, with each tournament awarding at least $500k.
