WTF?

Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports fame was not a happy camper following the Broncos-Raiders game December 7.

"That's the worst bad beat of all time," he declared.  "You have to investigate the Raiders.  Pete Carroll (Raiders head coach) should be in f***ing prison!"

Why?

Portnoy went on to explain that there were 16 seconds left in the game with the Broncos up 24-14 and the spread at +8.5.

"They call a delay of game with four seconds?  The game was over."

Apparently not.

Time would have expired at that point, except for the fact that Broncos safety Brandon Jones was on top of Tyler Lockett after making the tackle, and the officials then went on to call a delay of game penalty — allowing the Raiders to get one last play.

"They run out the field goal unit with no time left."

The end result: 24-17.

Raiders cover the 8.5 spread.

But Adam Trigger pointed out there was a method to this madness.

"Correct football play down 10 there. Pickett screwed up by not running out of bounds. Plan by Raiders was to get in FG range attempt FG and attempt onside kick. Insane way to lose Broncos tho."
