John Gotti Grandson Nabbed by Police for Possessing Pain Killers, Steroids
The grandson of the late Gambino crime family boss John Gotti was arrested Friday in Howard Beach, Queens for possession of pain killers and steroids.
22 year-old John Gotti was pulled over for having tinted windows. Police determined that the young Gotti also had a suspended driver’s license.
Citing a criminal complaint, the Daily News reported that police looked through the vehicle, discovering 18 methadone pills, marijuana, a testosterone bottle, and 205 Oxycodone pills.
“He maintains his innocence, and we’re going to fight these charges,” Gotti’s attorney Gerard Marrone said.
The Gotti grandson was expected to have made bail late Friday or early Saturday.
The elder Gotti died in prison in 2002 after being sentenced ten years earlier for murder and racketeering.
The Gambino Crime family remains active among the New York City “Five Families”.
Authorities claim the family’s illicit activities include labor and construction racketeering, gambling, loansharking, extortion, money laundering, prostitution, fraud, hijacking, pier thefts, and fencing.
