Kobe Bryant is going to best Michael Jordan in something basketball-related posthumously.
Jordan, or more accurately his iconic black and red Air Jordan 13s, currently holds the sneakers sale record at $2.2 million. His Airness wore the kicks during Game 2 of his final NBA championship in 1998.
But now Bryant's infamous "Grinch" sneakers from a Christmas Day game in 2010 are expected to shatter that auction record set by Jordan's shoes.
Auction house Joopiter, which was founded by musician Pharrell, is expecting a hammer price of 10 million, but the oddsmakers aren't expecting the sale to reach eight figures.
BetOnline.ag is offering over/under odds for what the final sale will tally, and their projection is a couple million shy of what the house hopes to achieve.
