Pete Hegseth Impeachment Odds Go Through the Roof

Wednesday April 15,, 2026 (7:30 pm EDT)

As of the 7 pm EDT hour, searches for Pete Hegseth's impeachment betting market have surged bigly (as seen from these Gambling911.com searches coming in).

Scroll left to right for regions.

Gambling911.com reported earlier Wednesday regarding the Democrats intention to file the Article of Impeachment against Hegseth.

Representatives announce impeachment proceedings: Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) and Rep. Yassamin Ansari (AZ-03) introduced articles of impeachment against U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, citing high crimes and misdemeanors. This action follows Larson's prior impeachment articles against former President Trump linked to military decisions and alleged illegal orders.

Reasons for impeachment outlined: The impeachment articles allege Hegseth's involvement in unauthorized military actions, violations of armed conflict laws, and negligence regarding classified information. Representatives claim his actions endanger U.S. servicemembers and undermine constitutional duties.

Official comments on the situation: Larson called Hegseth's actions "unlawful and dangerous," while Ansari emphasized the need for accountability due to risks posed to troops and civilians alike. Both lawmakers stress that Hegseth's conduct violates core principles of governance and military protocol.

Prediction markets only give a 6% chance of Hegseth actually getting impeached by the end of May.

Former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, a possible 2028 Democratic presidential candidate, is proposing a new tax on online gambling and prediction markets to fund research in fields where the US is competing with China.

The former Illinois congressman, ambassador to Japan and White House chief of staff has been contemplating a run for the Democratic presidential nomination and rolling out policy proposals to bolster his chances in what is expected to be a large field of candidates.

His latest proposal, which was reviewed by Bloomberg, would put a 10% federal transaction tax on wagers in licensed online sportsbooks, digital casino platforms, prediction market apps and exchanges.

Emanuel estimates the levy would generate $30 billion to $50 billion in revenue. (source: Bloomberg News)

There is a betting market for that...sort of.

U.S. President Donald Trump has said he will fire Fed Chair Jerome Powell should he choose to stay in his role next month.

Powell's term as head of the Chair of the Federal Reserve ends May 15 while his Board of Governors term runs until January 31, 2028.

Polymarket currently offers odds on Powell ceasing to hold a position on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors by December 31 of this year with 67% saying he will be out, though this doesn't necessarily mean by force

Betting Via Mobile Phones Might Be Banned in Ohio Soon

Tuesday April 14,, 2026 (10 pm EDT)

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has already called legalizing sports betting his biggest regret as governor.

And now Republicans are on board with The Save Ohio Sports Act—a bill so aggressive it would basically end the mobile betting industry in Ohio.

No more betting on your phone. No more betting with credit cards. No more prop bets or in-game wagers.

Bill sponsor Gary Click had this to say:

"Is it really worth the taxes we gain to risk people’s lives, their good mental health, their personal well being, their families, their homes? I don’t think it is.”

Top GOP Donor Asks Lawmakers to Reject Gambling Expansion

Tuesday April 14,, 2026 (11:39 am EDT)

As Gambling911.com reported last week, a top GOP donor is pushing hard to stop gambling expansion efforts in the state of North Carolina

Bob Luddy sent out an open letter to state senators last Tuesday.

“Casino gambling corrupts everything it touches and creates long-term costs for law enforcement, Medicaid and families,” Luddy said in a statement. “I am asking lawmakers to refuse casino money and stand with voters who do not want gambling in North Carolina.”

In the letter, Luddy claimed the state’s economic success stems from low taxes, school choice and a “hospitable” environment for business expansion and jobs.

“NC does not need casino gambling because it undermines society and in the long run, corrupts everyone it touches,” Luddy said in a recent letter to lawmakers. “Revenue gained is not needed and will be very costly for law enforcement, the welfare state, Medicaid and civil society.”

Proponents of the budget item argued that casinos would have a positive economic impact on the counties, citing an analysis that estimates a $1.9 billion casino market in North Carolina.

Lawmakers prepared to return to Raleigh for a new legislative session.
