Melbourne and Punta Gorda Florida Will Soon Get New Nonstop Flights to Las Vegas

Exciting news for Melbourne, Florida as Allegiant Air announced this weekend they will begin nonstop service to and from Las Vegas from Melbourne Orlando International Airport.

The airline does not currently offer nonstop service to the popular gambling destination.  In order to get to Las Vegas, one would have to connect through either Charlotte via American or Atlanta via Delta.  Another option is to take the hour plus drive to Orlando where the choices are more extensive.

We here at Gambling911.com recently flew Allegiant Air's and the experience was not bad at all with only a brief delay out of Fort Lauderdale due to limited gate space (the plane arrived on time and had to wait parked on the tarmac).  Flights tend to be super cheap in addition to convenient.

Allegiant, unlike the now defunct Spirit Airlines and other low-cost carriers, is highly profitable.  In fact, they are one of the few profitable airlines at the moment.  Sun Country out of Minneapolis is another, and Allegiant just acquired that airline.

The Melbourne-Vegas nonstop flights will begin in January of this coming year (2027).  No word yet on whether they will be daily.  The majority of Allegiant Air flights tend to fly four or fewer times per week.

"We're excited to expand our network in Melbourne and provide travelers with affordable, nonstop options to visit family and enjoy leisure destinations." — Drew Wells, Allegiant Chief Commercial Officer, announcing new Melbourne service.

Those in Punta Gorda will soon be able to fly both to Las Vegas and Atlantic City nonstop.  The Atlantic City flights commence in October while the Las Vegas flights begin some time in December.

Punta Gorda is served primarily by Allegiant Air, and while the airport has grown to 50+ nonstop destinations, Las Vegas has not been one of them, until now.

Fort Myers does offer nonstop flights to Las Vegas but that can be up to an hour drive from Punta Gorda.
