Minnesota Acquires LaMelo Ball and Timberwolves Championship Odds Just Got Worse?
  • Charlotte Hornets trade LaMelo Ball and Josh Green to T-Wolves

  • Hornets will receive a 2033 unprotected first-round pick and three second-round picks (2029, 2032, 2033)

  • Oddsmakers not impressed with Minnesota's championship chances following blockbuster trade as their chances move from 25-1 to 28-1

The Charlotte Hornets are trading star guard LaMelo Ball and Josh Green to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Naz Reid and a series of draft picks, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania on Thursday.

In addition to Reid, the Hornets will receive a 2033 unprotected first-round pick and three second-round picks (2029, 2032, 2033). Charlotte also gets first-round pick swaps in 2028, 2029 and 2030.

Many are questioning which team really won in this trade, and many claim the Timberwolves got the raw end of the deal.

The oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag are in that camp as they moved Minnesota's title odds higher.

  • Championship Odds Before LaMelo Trade: 25/1
  • Championship Odds After LaMelo Trade: 28/1
