Rapper Offset

The former member of Atlanta-based hip hop group Migos shot at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida Monday night is said to be in stable condition.

Offset (real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus), who was once married to Cardi B, was being treated at a hospital after Monday night’s shooting, the spokesperson said in a statement, although his exact condition was unknown. Police said the injuries were not life-threatening.

A rapper known as Lil Tjay, Tione Jayden Merritt, was arrested for the altercation that occurred just prior to the shooting, the Seminole Police Department in Florida said. He was charged with disorderly conduct and operating a vehicle without a valid license at a location nearby the famed casino.  Lil Tjay did not have a weapon and was not charged in the shooting, according to his attorney.

Walking out of the Broward County jail Tuesday afternoon, Lil Tjay told reporters that he was not involved in any fighting.

A second person detained at the scene has not been charged and investigators were working to identify others involved, police said in a statement Tuesday.

Authorities now believe that an associate of Lil Tjay may have been the shooter.

Speaking his first words from his hospital bed on Tuesday, Offset reportedly called Lil Tjay "a rat"

“U ain’t buss nun,” Offset wrote on Instagram, seemingly directing his words to Lil Tjay.

Around the same time, TMZ published an exclusive report. This, asserting that Lil Tjay “started the fight” which led to Offset getting shot. Specifically, around 7:22 p.m. on Monday, April 6, Lil Tjay allegedly “directed members of his party to start a fight with another group of males” at the casino.

More than three years ago, Offset’s cousin Takeoff, another member of Migos, was shot and killed at a Houston bowling alley.

Reports began surfacing that Offset owes multiple individuals gambling debts.  Lil Tjay claims Offset owes him $10,000 dollars from a gambling debt.

Former NFL star Dez Bryant just exposed a wild story about how he beat the Migos rapper out of eight grand at a casino.

“I beat offset out of 8k he tried to take a nap on me and I go to tap on him to wake him up, telling him I need that 8k,” Bryant wrote. “His patnas saw me tapping on him. I can tell his patnas wanted to jump on some b#######. I chilled because I was by myself completely out numbered, so I charged it to the game.”

It is also being reported that Bryant claims Offset hit him up just three hours before the shooting asking for money on what he called a “money play.”

Offset’s cousin and Migos groupmate, Takeoff, was shot and killed on November 1, 2022, in Houston, Texas.
