Patrons Intervene to Help Catch Cage Robber at Beau Rivage Casino Ahead of G911 Visit
We are here at the fabulous Beau Rivage Casino and enjoying our time at the BetMGM branded sportsbook.
This property in Biloxi, Mississippi truly shines. This is MGM Resorts marquee retail sportsbook outlet. It's not to be confused with their mobile brand, which is a partnership venture with Entain. Mississippi regulations allow for mobile betting while on the property (i.e. while dining, drinking, at the pool, in your room, even in the garage).

This state-of-the-art BetMGM Book Bar & Grill is a high-energy sports entertainment and dining. Our "Bet of the Century" was on the winning LA Chargers, so watching it here was an enjoyable experience. Our friends wearing Dolphins shirts weren't exactly thrilled with the outcome.
The venue features dozens of HDTVs including a giant video wall, center focal bar with comfortable flex back seating, 35 video poker machines, and a large five-window sports betting counter, there’s no better place to be and bet. A VIP lounge area, roomy booth dining and individual seating invite guests to enjoy a game, a collection of comfort food and American sports bar classics and a vast assortment of wine and cocktail offerings, including a varied beer selection featuring seasonal and regional drafts, in a comfortable smoke-free environment. Must be 21.
Beau Rivage Casino Customers Stop Armed Robber
Prior to our arrival, an armed robber was apprehended after displaying a weapon and demanding currency from a cashier at a cage in the casino.
Patrons intervened in stopping the fleeing suspect.
The male was identified as 44-year-old Charlotte, North Carolina resident, Aime Joseph Gelinas. An undisclosed amount of currency was recovered allegedly taken from the cage employee.
Gelinas was charged with armed robbery and taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $500,000 bond. If convicted, he could face up to life in prison.
State Of Mississippi Brings In $56.2 Million In October Sports Bets
The state of Mississippi saw $56.2 million bet this October, although the yearly numbers saw quite a dip between 2021 and 2022. Numbers were expected to be up over past years for the month of December with the FIFA World Cup in full swing.
The October numbers were an increase over September of 2022, in which the state’s sports betting handle totaled $43.1 million, representing a 30.4% jump from September to October.
