‘Piegate’ Reserve Goalie Gets Request to Pose Nude
Following news that Sutton FC had accepted reserve goalkeeper Wayne Shaw’s resignation after he was filmed eating meat pies along the sidelines as part of a bet stunt, Sutton lost to the Gunners 2-0. But the so-called Roly Poly Goalie appears to be getting all the love these days.
Shaw admitted he was aware that Sun Bets was offering 8-1 odds of him being filmed eating the meat pies. News of an FA probe forced the part-time goalie to resign, and now he’s becoming a huge celebrity across the United Kingdom.
“I’ve done nothing but sit there and be myself. Turns out I’m a big guy who people seem to want to look at,” Shaw told The Daily Mail.
“One publication asked if they can photograph me naked. Like, everything off, except a pair of goalie gloves, apparently.”
