Adam awoke on the day of the tournament feeling sick. He was shivering and had the chills.

Adam told Poker News that he thought he was just cold, so he stepped in the shower to heat up.

He explained in a YouTube Short for Poker Org that he shook while in the shower and the shivers were "the worst" he's ever felt.

"Something was definitely wrong," Adam said.

He then headed down to speak to hotel security.

As he headed down to the lobby, Adam felt his defibrillator go off to indicate the possibility of arrhythmia or cardiac arrest.

If the heart stops, the device applies an electric charge to restore a normal heartbeat.

After rushing to the hospital, doctors told Adam that he likely suffered a heart attack.

That didn't stop Adam from playing in Day 5 of the event.  And who could blame him?  There is $10 million up for grabs.

"So, I mean, they didn't see any damage, they did what they could do. They got my vitals, everything, looking good. And they gave me some strong medicines to get me through today," Adam told Poker News.

He would go on to be knocked out in the 213 spot where he walked away with $15,000.
