Prediction markets like Kalshi and Polymarket were set to begin offering parlay betting in the coming days. This doesn't sit well with one casino sportsbook owner. Scroll down for all the hottest gambling news headlines.
Derek Stevens, the owner of Circa Casino and Sportsbook, had this to say:
At what point will US and State Legislators realize that @Kalshi @PolymarketSport & other #PredictionMarkets are simply illegal gambling? Tomorrow prediction market parlays become available.
Hard to believe all the legal entities that have a stake in the industry will lay down. No federal excise taxes, no state gaming taxes, no league fees, no official data fees, no geo comply fees, no compliance fees, no problem gambling funding etc.
Read the article below and it becomes apparent how delusional this has become.

How Mom's Conversations in a Rio Hair Salon Led to Soccer Star's Unsubstantiated Betting Charges - Conversations in the hairdressing salon owned by the mother of Brazilian soccer player Lucas Paqueta were key to the West Ham forward being accused of spot fixing bets in the Premier League. Specifically, The FA claimed 542 bets had been placed by 253 different bettors, alleging at least 27 could be connected to Paqueta from his homeland. It said bets amounting to 46,759 pounds ($62,920) had been placed, resulting in winnings of 213,704 pounds ($287,585) and a profit of 166,945 pounds ($224,660). A commission would go on to find charges by the English Football Association to be unproven after the governing body claimed he had deliberately received yellow cards in four separate matches to affect betting markets. A central point of the case were conversations held in the salon in Rio owned by Paqueta's mother, Christiane Tolentino, which may have led to a flurry of bets. “I don’t know if anyone I have spoken to might have interpreted my normal conversations about Lucas as indicating that he was more likely to get a yellow card in a given match,“ she said in a witness statement (source: The Winchester Star)

Why These Canada Poker Rooms Charge Absurd Rake But Remain Packed - The rake issue has been ongoing across Ontario, Canada's most populous province, with over 14 million residents. But the players keep showing up to pay the 10% up to $20 rake, even in $1/$3 games that are tough, if not impossible, to beat for much. "It's not only just bad, it's criminal," poker player Kyle Anderson said of Ontario cash game rake in a tweet. "It's horrific here, especially when you compare it to literally anywhere else in the world." The 20 card rooms in Las Vegas do not even collect half as much as most rooms in Ontario. Las Vegas poker rooms that offer various high-hand or bad beat jackpots will charge an extra $1-$3 for the jackpot drop. The poker community here, which is home to Daniel Negreanu, is significant, thus, they keep on returning. It's all about the limited competition. "If they can continue getting numbers like this at $20 per hand, and the players keep showing up, why would they stop?" Anderson asked. (source: Poker News)
