Twin River Casino recently launched sports betting at its Lincoln and Tiverton locations.
Democratic Senate President Dominick Ruggerio says people couldn’t get to the front of the line in Lincoln to place wagers before the earliest football games Sunday. He says this has happened before.
Twin River spokesman Patti Doyle says this is only the first phase of their new operation. She says they’re opening a sports book lounge with additional terminals and self-service kiosks.
Ruggerio says Twin River took in $170,000 in sports wagers opening day in Lincoln, exceeding expectations. He says more than half of patrons are from out of state, predominantly Massachusetts.
