Sands Bethlehem Casino is denying a female patron, So Hyun Myung, her $1624 jackpot winnings from back in July after it was determined she was underage.

The casino was fined $50,000 for allowing Myung and five other underage people to gamble in their establishment.  In the case of Myung, she was also drinking alcohol.

"We regret the incidents occurred and firmly believe that the measures we have taken and will take in the next couple months, which include a more robust ID scanning system at each entrance point, will have a significant impact on our ability to combat this problem in 2017 and beyond," said Michael A. Magazzu, Sands' vice president and general counsel, told the gaming control board.

In each case, the incidents were caught by Sands employees and reported to the gaming board.

Three security officers were given final warnings and one was terminated, according to Magazzu.
