Poker pro Scott Seiver is well ahead in the running for World Series of Poker Player of the Year, and with good reason.  Seiver has just won his third WSOP bracelet this summer.  Only seven others have accomplished this in World Series of Poker history.  Jeff Lisandro was the last to do so back in 2009.

Seiver's latest victory came at the $10k No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw. He walks away with $411,041, beating out 186 entrants. Next year, at the age of 40, he becomes eligible for induction into the Poker Hall of Fame.

Over his live tournament career, Seiver has amassed $26,718,426 in winnings.

"I feel very satisfied right now," Seiver told PokerNews after the win. "I can't really describe it. I'm like on Cloud Nine right now. This just means so much to me, and it also is a step in a personal journey I've made for myself where I've had a eye in the sky dream where I want to win one bracelet in every single discipline there is."

Negreanu Cries Following First WSOP Bracelet in 11 Years

One of the most winningest players in poker, Daniel Negreanu, won his seventh World Series of Poker bracelet following an 11 year drought.

Negreanu's victory came Thursday at the $50,000 Poker Players Championship for over $1.1 million.  Negreanu was in tears following the win.

"This is a five-day marathon against all professional players, nine different games for 12 hours a day. You've got Phil Ivey on your left, you've got John Hennigan on your right. There's no soft spots, so to come out on top in this, that's a real win.

"There's so many great players out there now, and you know, poker's just growing and growing," Negreanu said about the difficulty in winning bracelets in 2024 compared to 2013. "So, obviously it's more difficult. I continue each year to put myself in position, and finally today everything went right for me to win."
