Will Shannon Sharpe Be Fired By ESPN Following Viral Sex Instagram Live Sex Broadcast? Latest Odds
In June, former NFL player Shannon Sharpe officially signed a new multi-year contract extension with ESPN which will also allow him to expand his role on First Take.
But Sharpe's ties to ESPN could be short-lived in the wake of a viral sex video.
After initially claiming he was hacked, the football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe admitted Wednesday that he inadvertently live streamed audio of him having sex to his roughly 3.2 million followers on Instagram.
On an emergency episode of the "Nightcap" podcast, he apologized for his mistake.
"Obviously I am embarrassed. Someone that is extremely, extremely private and to have one of your most intimate details – the audio – heard for the entire world to hear, I’m embarrassed for a number of reasons," Sharpe said.
"There are a lot of people that count on Shannon to be professional at all times and I always try to be professional at all times, even when I’m behind closed doors."

Hey, these things happen. Just look at CNN's political commentator Jeffrey Toobin, who was caught pleasuring himself during a Zoom conference call with colleagues. He had no idea his camera was on apparently. CNN kept Toobin. He was let go later on for a brief time before returning to the cable news network months later.
The betting public at Polymarket believes ESPN will remain in bed with Sharpe (sorry).
When the market opened on Tuesday, bettors gave the termination of 50% chance. That number was down to 7% by Wednesday, perhaps a result of the apology.
