Sordid Lifestyle of Slain Aussie Mobster Revealed by Ex-wife
  • Slain mobster Pasquale Barbaro read Bible verses to his young children according to girlfriend
  • Barbaro was gunned down outside his car last month, a year after surviving a previous attempt on his life
  • His alleged murderers were rounded up last week as part of an extensive raid
  • Barbaro knew his names were numbered and requested $10K be spent on coffin adorned with Jesus Christ statues

The ex-wife of slain Aussie mobster Pasquale Barbaro says he would read Bible verses to his children during the day and film naked escorts in the evenings.

Melinda Barbaro made the revelations to The Daily Telegraph, adding that her late hubby would adorn their home with religious statues.

Barbaro, whose family reportedly has ties to one of Australia’s top crime syndicates, was shot execution style as he attempted to flee from his car in Sydney last month.  A year previous the 35-year-old had survived another attempt on his life.

Law enforcement announced the arrests of nine individuals in Sydney gangland raids last week.  Four of those men were charged with murdering Barbaro.

His ex-wife claims Pasquale’s Catholic religion often conflicted with his gangster lifestyle.

'Yes he loved his Versace shirts and Rolexes but he went to church to pray and was fiercely loyal and protective to me and our children,' Melinda, 31, told The Daily Telegraph.

She also revealed Pasquale knew his days were numbered and a week before his murder requested $10,000 so he could be laid to rest in an opulent mahogany coffin adorned with statues of Jesus.

Melinda said her ex was a changed man after leaving prison in 2013, and not for the better.  He had previously been convicted of methamphetamine production.

Barbaro would date a number of glamorous women, including a dancer, Chantel Baptista, who claims to be in grieving.
