If you know the amount of action on a particular side and how the oddsmakers move the line, it can be easy to pinpoint what team the sportsbooks believe will cover based on their reaction.  Today we look at the March 21, 2026 NCAA Men's College Basketball spreads found at AcePerHead, one of the sharpest Pay Per Head operators on the planet.

Check out their odds board, these teams were seeing the most lopsided betting action, in order of balance (not necessarily volume when compared to other teams and/or games):

  1. Michigan State - 78% (bets) to 92% (money)
  2. Houston - 62% (bets) to 87% (money)
  3. Duke - 80% (money)
  4. Michigan - 77% (money)
  5. Liberty - 70% (both) - *This could balance out by the time this game is played later in the evening.

The books are reacting to the heavy action on the Spartans with the line moving from -3.5 to -4.5.  However, some of the recreational books have dropped the number from -5 to -4.5.  This indicates to us that there is a belief among the oddsmakers that Louisville is expected to cover here.  It's not a firm assessment, however, until we see that Circa is also dropping from -5 to -4.5.

With Houston the books have moved from Cougars -10 to -11, which suggests a more likely scenario that Houston covers by 11 points or more.  This move has the books balancing action as opposed to any strong opinion.  It's not necessarily a bet we would be on.

Liberty is interesting early as the books have more the line from +7.5 to +8 despite the dog seeing more action.  Consider Nevada here though this one won't make or break the books as it will be among the least wagered on of the NCAA games being this is an NIT match.

Michigan was the most wagered on side early and their game is the first to be played.   The line was steady at -12.5.  Duke came in as the second most bet on side.
