Three employees of Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel on Fremont Street are accused of skimming registers starting in 2022 and ending in April of last year.  Their losses reportedly amounted to nearly $300,000.

Christina Carbonell, Siraprapha Rattana and Rommel Soriano are each accused of stealing the money and have been arrested.

The casino’s investigation into the stolen money began after an internal audit involving the Binion’s Café, according to Metro police documents.

The employees allegedly stole money from the restaurant's register.  A co-worker tipped off authorities.

At the time police were notified, hotel security detained Rattana, who told police she and the two others stole on average about $200 a day.

Hotel security told police video evidence showed Rattana “skimming from the register” and pocketing money. Detectives suspect Carbonell and Rattana, who worked as cashiers, “would intentionally apply unauthorized discounts or manually reduce the transaction total” but then “remain the discounted cash amount,” documents said.

Soriano, a waiter, admitted to receiving the money, and video evidence showed him helping in hiding the theft from surveillance cameras, police said.

Reviews of bank accounts for each employee showed large transactions during the period in question.

The local CBS affiliate in Las Vegas reports that the total loss to Binion’s amounted to $298,000, documents said.

Carbonell faces a charge of theft with a value above $100,000. In a court appearance earlier this year, she pleaded not guilty.  She was ordered by a judge to stay away from the casino. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for April 20.

Rattana faces a charge of theft with a value above $100,000. She posted $20,000 bail and pleaded not guilty. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for April 22.
