TJ Watt's Negotiations With Steelers "Extremely Difficult": Latest Steelers Odds

There is a stalemate between T.J. Watt and the Pittsburgh Steelers that could threaten the team's season.  We all saw how distractions surrounding Aaron Rodgers drove the Packers odds down during the off season.  But this is Week 1 and Watt is considered among the Steelers top assets.

The outside linebacker has yet to practice fully with the team. Contract negotiations won't happen during the season as Game 1 against the Buffalo Bills looms Sunday.

Watts is scheduled to hold a press conference on Tuesday so we should get some further clarification regarding his intentions moving forward.

“With the start of the season less than a week away, Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt is still declining to practice,” wrote Michael David Smith via Pro Football Talk.

“Watt has been sitting out practice since the start of training camp because he wants a new contract, the Steelers haven’t given him one, and he doesn’t want to risk an injury until he has his new contract in place.”

Pittsburgh sits at 40-1 odds to win the Super Bowl and they are favored to win no more than 8 regular season games at -135.
