Day 2 of US Open Golf continues with an unlikely leader J.J. Spaun enjoying quite the start to this tournament.
Spaun hit eight of 14 fairways and 12 of 18 greens in regulation, prompting oddsmakers to shift his odds from +12000 to +1200 (eliminating one of those zeroes).
Brooks Koepka came in as the new favorite to win the 2025 US Open Friday.
He was helped early on by an eagle at the par-5 fourth. He went on to polish off a front-nine two-under 33 with five straight pars and then coming home in even par to post a 68, two off the lead of J.J. Spaun.
“I thought I played pretty consistent, drove it really well. Iron play was pretty good. When I did miss it, I felt like I missed it in the correct spots. A couple of good bunker shots.”
He added: “I’m really happy with the way I finished, and hopefully it leads into tomorrow.”

NBA Finals Game 4: Oklahoma Thunder vs. Indiana Pacers
Indiana grabbed control of the series on Wednesday night in a 116-107 win, going up 2-1.
They were led by Bennedict Mathurin's 27 points in 22 minutes and T.J. McConnell's 10 points, five assists and five steals in 15 minutes — outscored Oklahoma City's reserves 49-18.
“I just think we stay pretty emotionally even in all of the different experiences,” Thunder coach Mark Daigneault said. “You really see that when we win. I think if you’re going to get high on the wins, then the natural opposite of that is to get low on the losses. This team doesn’t really swing violently between those two things. Never has.”
The line on Game 4 had the Thunder as a -6 road favorite despite being down in the series.
Action was relatively balanced at this number. We've seen some books move to the -6.5 Friday morning.
“There’s nothing to get excited about right now,” Indiana guard Tyrese Haliburton said. “We’re still a long way away.”
Haliburton's total points scored Over/Under was set at 18.5 for Friday night's game.

Stanley Cup Finals Game 5: Panthers vs. Oilers
The Edmonton Oilers opened as a +100 home dog in Game 5 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals.
