The Masters 2025

The Masters is so different from the other four majors, the AP observes.

It has the smallest field (95 players) on the prettiest property (home of a former nursery that now boasts more than 80,000 plants of 350 varieties) and is the only major referred to as a “tournament” instead of a “championship.”

“The buildup to this event is a lot, and the sort of anticipation and we’re waiting eight or nine months for the next major to roll around from the Open championship,” favorite to win Rory McIlroy said. “To end your preparation with an afternoon like this ... it’s such a fun afternoon.”

McIlroy comes to the Masters in the best form, having already won twice this year, and with arguably the most attention as he tries for the 17th time to join the elite list of slam winners.

Bookies should be salivating this week with PPH golf betting platforms offering plenty of matches, futures and even prop bets.

White Sox vs. Guardians

Remarkably, last year's worst team is today's most bet on, seeing greater than 65% coming in on the moneyline.  That would be the Chicago White Sox as they take on the Guardians in Cleveland.

Chicago is still playing poorly at 2-9.

PITCHING PROBABLES: White Sox: Jonathan Cannon (0-1, 3.12 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, eight strikeouts); Guardians: Gavin Williams (0-0, 4.50 ERA, 1.62 WHIP, seven strikeouts)

Guardians -229, White Sox +189; over/under is 7 1/2 runs

BOTTOM LINE: The Chicago White Sox will look to break a five-game road slide when they play the Cleveland Guardians.

Cleveland has a 2-0 record at home and a 5-6 record overall. The Guardians have hit 14 total home runs to rank sixth in the AL.

Chicago has a 0-5 record in road games and a 2-9 record overall. The White Sox have a 0-5 record in games decided by one run.

The teams play Thursday for the third time this season.

Jose Ramirez has four home runs, six walks and six RBI while hitting .281 for the Guardians. Carlos Santana is 11-for-38 with two doubles, two home runs and four RBI over the last 10 games.

Nick Maton has two home runs while hitting .167 for the White Sox. Andrew Benintendi is 9-for-31 with two home runs over the past 10 games.

Angels vs. Rays

The Rays opened at -149 with the line shooting all the way down to -109.

PITCHING PROBABLES: Angels: Jose Soriano (1-1, 3.65 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, 14 strikeouts); Rays: Zack Littell (0-2, 4.15 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, 10 strikeouts)

Rays -134, Angels +113; over/under is 8 runs

BOTTOM LINE: The Tampa Bay Rays and Los Angeles Angels meet on Thursday with the winner claiming the three-game series.

Tampa Bay is 5-6 overall and 5-3 at home. The Rays are 3-1 in games when they did not give up a home run.

Los Angeles has gone 5-3 in road games and 7-4 overall. The Angels have a 4-1 record in games decided by one run.

Thursday's game is the third meeting between these teams this season.

Jonathan Aranda has six doubles and a home run for the Rays. Brandon Lowe is 12-for-41 with three home runs over the past 10 games.

Kyren Paris has a triple, five home runs and eight RBI for the Angels. Logan O'Hoppe is 11-for-34 with five home runs and nine RBI over the past 10 games.
