The writing is on the wall, this series is over. The quick turnaround for Game 5 does nothing to help the Mets, as all the momentum is on the Dodgers' side after Thursday night's eight-run win. When star players like Brandon Nimmo are telling reporters that it would be a "heck of a story" if the Mets were to pull off the comeback, you know the overall team attitude is feeling defeated. The Mets know they are underdogs, and they are playing like it. The sleeping giant has awoken, after not hitting a home run in six consecutive playoff games, Shohei Ohtani has now homered in Games 3 and 4, finding his rhythm in New York. Los Angeles' top two hitters are on fire, both Ohtani and Betts homered on Thursday, while New York's top two hitters cannot say the same. Lindor and Alonso went hitless in Game 3 and did not provide any run production in Game 4. That is not a winning recipe for New York. Peterson is on the mound for the Mets, but he has been pitching in relief all playoffs and is now asked to pitch six or more innings after not doing it for weeks. Flaherty is on the mound for LA, and he dominated Game 1, pitching seven scoreless innings and allowing just two hits in the win, the Mets do not want to see him again.
Take the Dodgers to win and close the series.
Prediction: Dodgers -145
