Police arrested 65 people after busting an illegal nightclub operating inside industrial buildings in Hung Hom, a district in southeastern Kowloon, Hong Kong, and three illegal fishing-machine gambling dens during a two-day operation. The operation, codenamed Thunderbolt and Roaring Tiger, was carried out on Jul 10 and 11. More than 170 officers from the West Kowloon Regional Crime Unit, Kowloon City District, Yau Tsim District, the West Kowloon Operational Unit and the Immigration Department took part.

One of the most ardent critics of the online gambling industry, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, has died suddenly at the age of 71. Graham, a Republican and one of President Donald Trump’s closest allies in Congress who traveled the globe to advocate for a more aggressive U.S. foreign policy, has died after a “brief and sudden illness,” his office said. The late Senator was among the staunchest critics of online gambling. During the early 2010's, Graham proposed a bill seeking to outlaw all forms of online gambling. Graham’s bill at the time complimented efforts by GOP mega donor and casino magnate Sheldon Adelson to halt state-by-state legalization of Web gambling while preventing the activity at the federal level. Politico.com noted that Adelson cut checks for $15,600 in campaign contributions to Graham in 2013. Graham would ultimately introduce the Restoration of America’s Wire Act, which failed to gain much traction in the Senate.

This can be traced back to 2021 when high-stakes pro Daniel Colman publicly warned the poker community that he believed Sean Perry was a scammer. Perry denied wrongdoing, but the allegations damaged his reputation. Perry, whose live tournament winnings total greater than $6.8 million, has claimed that Negreanu helped amplify negative opinions about him within the poker community and turned other players against him.
