Julien Alfred Upsets in the Women's 100 Meters

Julien Alfred gave the tiny island of Saint Lucia its' first ever Olympic medal Saturday.

She finished on a wet track with heavy rain with a national record of 10.72 seconds.

Alfred was listed at +430 odds to win the Women's 100 meters gold with Sha'Carri Richardson (USA) a pretty big -310 favorite.  Richardson would go on to take the silver, finishing in 10.67, while Melissa Jefferson claimed bronze in 10.92.

A notable absentee from the final was Jamaican double Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce who missed her semifinal after security officials at the Stade de France refused to let her in.

Harris Up 5 Points in Shock New Poll

Scott Rasmussen suggests it could just be a "temporary bounce" but his polling, as his own polling showed Vice President Kamala Harris up 5 points over GOP nominee Donald Trump.

Harris +5...

We don't know yet if this is a temporary bounce or the first indicator of lasting change in the race... A week ago, it was a toss-up (Trump 44% Harris 43%).

Stay tuned!

What's more shocking here is that Scott Rasmussen tends to lean more pro-Trump.

His RMG Polling is not to be confused with the even more far-right-leaning Rasmussen Reports.

Three thousand registered voters were polled by RMG Research for the time period of July 29-31, 2024. Of those respondents, 47 percent said they were voting for Harris, 42 percent for Trump, and six percent for independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

As of Saturday morning, Trump had odds of -110 and Harris +100 at BetOnline.

Vice President to be Selected This Weekend?

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro was now a -450 favorite to be picked as Harris' VP running mate at BetOnline.

White House, campaign and party sources tell Axios that all signs point to the 51-year-old as being the pick.

Why it matters: Virtually all roads to 270 electoral votes run through Pennsylvania — one of the few things the Harris and Trump campaigns agree on.

While Harris could surprise everyone, she seems to be headed toward a pick that a wide variety of sources — Republicans and Democrats — think is both shrewd and straightforward.

It's a combination of math and logic: Pennsylvania's 19 electoral college votes are the biggest swing-state prize on the map, and its Democratic governor has a 61% approval rating.

Trump Only Wants Fox Debate

Trump has reneged on his campaign’s prior agreement to an ABC News-hosted debate in a late-night social media post in which he also announced he has agreed “with FoxNews to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th.”  The former president is also requesting a live audience.

Trump posted his intentions late Friday night, just before midnight, and explained his changed mind, stating that the previously scheduled debate was against President Joe Biden, which he claimed “has been terminated in that Biden will no longer be a participant.”

He also cited a lawsuit he has filed against the ABC Network and George Stephanopoulos, claiming that his reputation had been harmed by multiple on-air reports that Mr. Trump had been found liable for raping the writer E. Jean Carroll.

Harris has yet to agree on these terms.

BetOnline plans to offer a number of prop bets pertaining to any future debate between the two candidates.
