Inventor of Web to Speak at SBC Summit 2024

  • Sir Tim Berners-Lee is scheduled to give the keynote speech at the upcoming SBC Summit.
  • Bernard-Lee is considered the investor of the Web.
  • Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web in 1989 during his tenure as a software engineer at CERN, the renowned particle physics lab near Geneva, Switzerland. He saw the unrealised potential of millions of computers linked via the Internet and conceived the Web as a global platform for sharing information.
  • The fireside discussion with Sir Tim, focusing on how his vision of a globally connected network of computers has revolutionised the way we share information, is set for the Super Stage at Feira Internacional de Lisboa’s MEO Arena — one of the largest indoor arenas in Europe — on September 24 from 11:45 to 12:30.
  • Rasmus Sojmark, CEO & Founder of SBC, said: “Our events have always been about exploring what lies ahead, beyond the current landscape. As event organisers, our goal is not only to provide attendees with access to products and services and facilitate networking but also to educate and inspire innovation, pushing their offerings to the next level. Sir Tim embodies this ethos perfectly — he’s a shining example of someone who recognised potential and transformed lives in unimaginable ways.”

Mark Kelly VP Odds Surge Upwards

BetOnline.ag made Josh Shapiro the favorite when odds first opened Sunday afternoon. This morning, former astronaut and Arizona Senator Mark Kelly was moved into the top spot.

"This change is really just based on where the bets are coming in," BetOnline.ag political oddsmaker Paul Krishnamurty said. "Most of the media narrative is directed toward Josh Shapiro, but at this point Mark Kelly being on the ticket would be a significant loss for our book because the bettors are strongly backing him."

Kamala Harris odds are the shortest yet at -150 as of Wednesday morning at BetOnline.

Poker Pros Talk to Gambling 911 About WSOP Cheating Scandal

Jonathan Tamayo, 38, from Humble, Texas, just outside Houston, won the 2024 WSOP Main Event last week, beating out 10,111 other competitors and earning the $10 million top prize.

But there was controversy.

Between hands, Tamayo would often go over to the rail, an area where spectators watched the action from, and confer with pals who were analyzing the hands using a laptop and a computer program called a “solver.”

The program would analyze Tamayo’s decisions after the fact and determine whether or not he had made the best decisions statistically.
