Top Trending Gambling News: Midterm Elections Betting Off the Charts

LAS VEGAS (Gambling911.com) - We are fast approaching the US midterm elections and the odds are updating constantly at BetOnline.

Gambling911.com reported over the weekend how Jared Moskowitz wasn't supposed to win in the newly configured 25th Congressional District, but here he is the -500 favorite.

Jared Moskowitz effectively lost his old congressional district through Florida's 2026 redistricting, and the new district he is running in was initially designed to favor Republicans.

Moskowitz currently represents Florida's 23rd Congressional District, but Republicans redrew the map in May 2026.

Inside Elections rated the congressional race a Toss-up in August.

BetOnline had Moskowitz a -325 favorite, which suggested a strong lean towards the Democrats.

This weekend BetOnline shifted his odds dramatically towards "lock" status, -500, after initially moving to -400.

Our coverage of the seismic move in the odds favoring Moskowitz went viral.

Overnight Sunday we covered news out of Ohio whereby ActiVote’s October 18, 2026 Ohio U.S. Senate poll found that Republican Jon Husted leads Democrat Sherrod Brown by 0.4%. The poll was in the field between September 26 and October 18 (median field date of October 7). The poll was among 400 likely midterm voters and has an average expected error of 4.9%.

But oddsmakers at BetOnline have Brown favored to win at -200.  The trend continues to favor Brown, with his odds at -170 just days prior.

Police: Cape May County Middle School Teacher Restrained Man and Stole Over $1000 During Sex Act at Atlantic City Casino

A middle school teacher has been charged with stealing from a man at an Atlantic City casino during what authorities described as a perverse ménage à trois that allegedly took a twisted turn.  Another woman charged was previously arrested for prostitution at the Borgata Casino.  The Cape May County New Jersey computer class teacher, Amanda Crafts, is accused of restraining the man in a hotel room at the Harrah's Casino then forcing him to access his bank account info using facial recognition to steal $1,250, supposedly the payment for oral sex.   Crafts is still listed as a teacher on the school directory.

Vegas Casino Flamingo Theft Trial Continues Monday

The jury provided Canadian tourist, Mitchell Fairbairn, 34, with an extensive set of questions as his trial kicked off this week in Las Vegas.  Fairbairn is accused of stealing and harming a beloved flamingo named Peachy at the aptly named Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino resort on March 3 and testified Friday that he did not mean to harm the bird, who is now recovering.   While claiming to have drank upwards of 40 beers the day of the incident, Fairbairn, who lives on a farm, told jurors he does "not drink a lot" and followed that with "Nowhere near what I drank here".  The trial is expected to continue for the next few days and conclude some time this week.

Novig and Crypto.com Sue Missouri — But Kalshi and Polymarket Hold Back

Novig and Crypto.com filed federal lawsuits challenging Missouri's attempt to restrict sports prediction markets in recent days.  The interesting twist is that Kalshi, Polymarket, Robinhood and Underdog received similar cease-and-desist letters but had not filed comparable Missouri lawsuits as of Sunday.  Kalshi has been among the most aggressive in the courts and their silence in this matter may be an indication they are picking and choosing their battles more carefully, perhaps allowing competitors to take up some of the slack.
