ESPN Takes Center Stage

The story of an ESPN researcher who won $1 million playing in a Draftkings contest continued to driver readers to the site.

Despite a company policy prohibiting employees from gambling on sports ESPN covers, the winner of this contest comes under the job title of "researcher" and appears to be exempt from their policy

There hasn't been any further updates since this story broke earlier in the wee.  We will take that to mean he won't be getting fired and can keep that million dollars.....for now at least.

ESPN was top trending at Gambling911.com over the last 48 hours.

Johnny Manziel Searches Coming in Amidst ESPN Drama

ESPN somehow managed to notch two big stories here at Gambling911.com that have more to do with the site's personalities than any type of sports coverage.

Former Texas A&M quarterback came in as the third most trending topic at Gambling911.com over the last 24 hours.

Nearly two weeks after he missed a scheduled appearance as the guest picker on College GameDay, Manziel used the opportunity to address his absence by promoting his odds of a return that currently appear on the prediction market Kalshi.

"The market currently gives me a 34% chance of being back on set next season. If you think that number’s low, take the other side."

As soon as he made those comments, his chances shot up to 70%, where they currently sit.

He received plenty of backlash after he no showed.

Manziel released a statement the next day, apologizing for his absence and spouting off against “fake narratives.”

He claimed the no show was due to an illness.
