Study Finds Young Men Most Likely to Become Gambling Addicts

A new poll by Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison found that young men across the U.S were more likely to bet on sports and most likely to become gambling addicts when compared with the rest of the population.

While just 3% of adults nationwide reported problem gambling, that number was 10% among men aged 18 to 30, the FDU poll found.

“There’s always some chance of gambling turning into problem behaviors, and online gambling is proving to be much more dangerous than other kinds,” Dan Cassino, who heads the FDU polling institute, said in a prepared statement.

Fifty-seven percent of registered American voters have taken part in some form of gambling, which includes lotteries.

Only 10% of registered voters said they took part in online sports betting, but that figure soared to 26% among men under the age of 45.

“Sports betting has been marketed heavily to the young men who are the biggest consumers of sports,” Cassino said. “When every league is partnered with a betting site, people who like sports are going to start gambling on it.”

Gambling Firm Appears to Trivialise Lebanon Pager Blasts in Social Media Post

London-listed Evoke, which owns William Hill, apologised for post on Israeli Facebook page linking to job ads.

Countless pagers exploded across Lebanon Tuesday, killing 12 and injuries thousands.  A number of walkie-talkies blew up on Wednesday.

The post was shared on the Israeli Facebook page of London-listed Evoke plc, previously known as 888 Holdings, and included a crudely drawn image of what it described as a “beeper”.  888 Holdings in 1997 by Israeli entrepreneurs Avi and Aaron Shaked and Shay and Ron Ben-Yitzhak, two sets of brother.

The caption above the picture read: “If that’s what they’ve managed to do with beepers, imagine what it’s like to work with technology. Wow. Luckily we are recruiting well.”

North Carolina Election Odds Still Favor Trump After Robinson Controversy

BetOnline still had Donald Trump winning North Carolina at -140 odds following shocking revelations that the gubernatorial candidate on the GOP ticket had allegedly made disparaging remarks on a porn message board that included wishing there should still be slavery and referring to himself as a "black Nazi".

It gets worse, if that is even possible.

Robinson has vowed to stay in the race.  The deadline to get out was Thursday September 19 before midnight.

The comments predate his entry into politics and current stint as North Carolina’s lieutenant governor.  They appeared on the site "Nude Africa", which features a pornographic message board.  CNN says it was able to link the comments to emails and accounts belonging to Robinson, who is black.  He denies it was him who made them.

  •     "I'm a black Nazi!"
  •     “I came to a spot that was a dead end but had two big vent covers over it! It just so happened it overlooked the showers! I sat there for about an hour and watched as several girls came in and showered."
  •     “I went peeping again the next morning but after that I went back the ladder was locked! So those two times where [sic] the only times I got to do it! Ahhhhh memories!!!!”
  •     "Some people need to be slaves".
