Books Void South Alabama Bets After Game Shortened Due to Blowout

South Alabama crushed Northwestern State 87-10 on Thursday night, with the Jaguars setting a school scoring record. The onslaught was so bad that the coaches of both teams agreed to shorten the fourth quarter by six minutes, resulting in only 54 minutes of play.

What happened next had some sports bettors fuming.

College football sportsbook house rules will often require 55 minutes of play for most action to be considered valid.

DraftKings' house rules state, "There must be 5 minutes or less of scheduled game time left for bets to have action unless the specific market outcome is already unconditionally determined." The last part is crucial, as over and under bets on the total (in this case set at 59.5, per ESPN BET odds) can be deemed "unconditional" -- in other words, they would have hit regardless of anything that could have happened in the final minutes of the game.

As a result, DraftKings graded overs and unders as winners and losers, respectively. BetMGM confirmed that it settled total bets in the same manner.

Gamblers Demand Jaydon Blue Bets Be Voided

Head coach Steve Sarkisian and his second ranked Texas Longhorns received major news before their tilt against UTSA on Saturday. Top running back Jaydon Blue was officially ruled out with an undisclosed injury.

Blue has rushed 20 times for the Longhorns in their first two wins over Colorado State and Michigan and was among the most wagered on player prop bets of Week 3.

Apparently some sportsbooks had yet to void Jaydon Blue prop bets by Saturday night.  It appears this was simply a grading delay however.

Not a problem for Texas as they went on to beat UTSA 56-7.

Rams WR Puka Nacua Could Miss 5-7 Weeks

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua could miss between five and seven weeks, depending on how quickly his posterior cruciate ligament injury heals, sources told ESPN.

Nacua reinjured his knee during last Sunday night's overtime loss to the Detroit Lions and was placed on injured reserve last week.

Rams coach Sean McVay said it was possible that Nacua could be sidelined the minimum of four weeks that he is required to miss by being placed on IR. The Rams have their bye in Week 6, so the earliest the second-year star could return would be Los Angeles' Week 7 home game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

But according to sources, now the Rams' thinking is that Nacua's status for the games against the Raiders and the following Thursday night at home against the Minnesota Vikings also could be in jeopardy.

Dolphins' Tagovailoa Scheduled to Meet With Neurologists This Week

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who suffered another concussion during his team's Thursday night game against Buffalo, is scheduled to meet early this week with neurologists, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Tagovailoa will be seeking their input into the severity of his latest concussion and the cumulative effect of the ones he has suffered in the past to make the most informed decision about his future, sources said. He has no plans to retire prior to meeting with the neurologists, according to sources.

Tagovailoa sustained a hit to the head during Thursday night's loss when he lowered his shoulder into Bills safety Damar Hamlin.
