Zach Wilson Odds to be Next Starting Quarterback Benched at -175
Jets starting quarterback Zach Wilson will be the starter no more it appears. At least that's what our friends at SportsBetting.ag believe. They are listing Wilson as the next starting QB to be benched at -175 odds, nearly six points greater than the next shortest odds (belonging to the Houston Texans Davis Mills).
A win over New England would have moved the Jets into first place in the AFC East. They haven't been there this late in the season in twelve years. And just like that, the Jets move to the bottom of the division.
Wilson threw for just 77 yards on 9-for-22 passing. He also ran for a team-high 26 yards. His effort overall was lackluster at best.
“It was a frustrating day,” said Wilson, who quickly replied, “No” when asked if he and the offense let the defense down.
Fans want seasoned veteran quarterback Joe Flacco to replace Wilson.
Interestingly, perhaps a bit tongue-in-cheek, Kirk Cousins and Aaron Rodgers are longshots on the list following dismal performances in Week 11.
Next Quarterback Benched (non-injury related)
Zach Wilson -175
Davis Mills +400
Marcus Mariota +500
Andy Dalton +900
Trevor Lawrence +1200
Kenny Pickett +1600
Russell Wilson +1600
Kirk Cousins +3300
Aaron Rodgers +10000
Heading into the 2022 NFL season, Wilson didn't even make the list of odds for the first NFL quarterback to be benched in 2022. Starting quarterback for that other New York Team, the Giants, Daniel Jones, had the 3rd shortest odds and he's carried his team to a 7-3 record so far.
