The afternoon odds for Saturday’s Breeders Cup Classic had not changed much since the AM hours as this is a later race (8:35 pm EST)

Arroage was still promising a payout of 2/1 odds while Gun Runner would pay out just shy of that number. The two horses were likely to alternate between favorite status come post time.
“This is the greatest horse we’ve seen since Secretariat,” trainer Bob Baffert said of his horse Arrogate after watching him overcome a brutal start to somehow beat Gun Runner in the Dubai World Cup back in March. Since that time, Arrogate has lost two consecutive races while Gun Runner has won five of his last six.
He was badly beaten back in August as the 1-20 favorite in the San Diego Handicap on the same track that hosts Saturday evening’s Breeders Cup Classic.
"I think a lot of it is the way I prepared him," Baffert said. "I take the blame for him getting beat the first time. The second time, it looked like he wasn't going to run and all of a sudden he started running at the end.
"I think he should run well."

As for the morning technical favorite Gun Runner, trainer Steve Asmussen has high hopes for his entrant.
"He's stronger, recovers quicker from his races, recovers quicker from his works. He trains like a machine. He's stronger. He's a better horse at 4 than he was at 3.
"This is the stage to prove where Gun Runner is at."
Arrogate was ranked the best horse in the world when he powered through the Travers, Breeders' Cup Classic, Pegasus World Cup, and Dubai World Cup in succession.
Other entrants with short odds include West Coast and Collected, both at 6/1.
