Gambling911.com has your 2017 Kentucky Derby predictions with what could be bad news for Untrapped (31-1 odds to win the Derby).
That bad news comes to us from trainer Steve Asmussen, who is racing three horses this year and starts Untrapped from the number four post position.
“With Untrapped, the four is a bit of a concern because Always Dreaming is just to his outside and he’ll probably be the pace horse.”
That spot has yielded five winners in Derby history, most recently in 2010 with Super Saver.
Some other troubling aspects to Untrapped: He’s yet to win since breaking his maiden and finished 6th in the most recent Kentucky Derby prep race, the Arkansas Derby.
