Why Can't I Bet With NYRA Bets From Missouri

Missouri does not currently permit advance deposit wagering (ADW), which is the method NYRA Bets and many other online horse racing platforms use to accept bets.

Online race books licensed outside the US have capitalized off of this and do take bets on this year's Kentucky Derby and other horse races.

Missouri has strict regulations on gambling, and online or mobile horse betting platforms like NYRA Bets are not legally allowed to operate without explicit authorization from state law. Missouri law permits pari-mutuel betting on live horse races (in theory).  Because NYRA Bets is based out of the US, they have opted to stay out of the state.  FanDuel Racing also does not take bets on its race book app from Missouri.  TwinSpires pulled out last year (2024).

NYRA Bets compliance assures that they only operate in states where ADW is legal and regulated.

Missouri has not had operational horse racing tracks offering pari-mutuel wagering in decades.
