Classic Empire Odds to Win the 2017 Preakness Stakes
Classic Empire, the original favorite to win this year’s Kentucky Derby and eventual 4th place finisher, was coming in early at 3-1 odds to win the 2017 Preakness Stakes.
The winner of the Arkansas Derby, there were early concerns about Classic Empire and his inconsistency as well as health issues that had oddsmakers pushing his chances below that of other entrants the day of the Kentucky Derby.
He did finish 4th on a muddy track.
“I’ve never once counted him out,” trainer Mark Casse said heading into this race. “I know a lot of people have. I feel that ability-wise, he is the most talented horse out there right now.”
The price though, is ridiculous at 3-1, we here at Gambling911.com believe. Lookin At Lee, the 2nd place finisher at the Derby, had longer odds at 5-1.
