Cupid Odds to Win the 2017 Breeders Cup Classic
Coming into the start of the week, Cupid was listed with 25/1 odds of winning the 2017 Breeders Cup Classic. These odds could be cut with Keen Ice (previously 12/1 odds) scratched.
Cupid had the longest odds of the five horses being raced by trainer Bob Baffert.
While he finished 4th in his last race, Cupid finished first in two previous races, one of which was the Grade 1 Gold Cup at Santa Anita.
Before the Santa Anita race, Cupid finished a horrid 8th place at the Pennsylvania Derby but had finished 1st in two previous Grade 2 races. As such, he simply cannot be counted out of the Breeders Cup Classic.
"We loved Cupid as a yearling and he has developed into a smashing horse just like you would have hoped," said Coolmore America manager Dermot Ryan. "He's a quality individual with plenty of size and great balance and the pedigree and race record to match. He's an exciting prospect."
