Pavel was at 30/1 odds of winning this year’s Breeders Cup Classic, Hoppertunity was at 40/1 odds and Good Samaritan was at 45/1 odds. These odds are subject to change as some horses were being scratched the days leading up to Saturday's big race.
Diversify had also been at 30/1 odds but was scratched over the weekend.
“We are very pleased with the way he's [Pavel's] training here and I'm hoping this 3-year-old does what Arrogate did last year,” said Leandro Mora, the long-time assistant to trainer Doug O'Neill, shortly after Pavel went 2M over the Del Mar main track as he continued preparation for the Classic this past weekend.
“We are so motivated,” Mora added.
