Ushba Tesoro also pays out $1400 while Arthur's Ride pays out a cool $2100 for every $100 bet with a win.
Highland Falls Led the Brad Cox-trained trio of BC workers on Oct. 26. The other two were Federal Judge and Saudi Crown, neither of whom are racing in the Classic.
Highland Falls was the last of the trio to hit the track, breezing at 7:30 a.m. ET, but will be targeting the biggest prize: the $7 million Breeders' Cup Classic (G1).
His 4-year-old colt Highland Falls brings in Grade 1 bona fides and program odds of 20-1.
“I thought 20-1 was a little long,” Cox said. “I didn’t set the morning line. I don’t really care, but I did just see it and thought, wow, 20-1, he is being dismissed maybe a little bit. He’s a good horse. I think 10 furlongs is his thing. He showed that last time out at Saratoga. Once again with a good trip I think he’s there.”
Ushba Tesoro, meanwhile, avoided a terrifying situation during BC training a few days back.
While jogging up the stretch, the 7-year-old son of Orfevre suddenly spooked and spun around. Rider Masakazu Fukami did not appear to be caught off guard and spun with the horse.
Ushba Tesoro has won over $16 million during his racing career.
Karl Glassman owns the William Mott-trained Arthur’s Ride, the nearly all white 4-year-old.
“To know that Bill is taking our horse to the Breeders’ Cup … I just don’t have words,” Glassman, who owns the horse with his wife, Cathi, said from his home in Stuart, Florida. “It’s starting to get to be nervous time. We got the saddle cloth the other day and Cathi and I looked at each other and just started laughing. How did this happen?”
Arthur’s Ride is named for Karl Glassman’s father, Arthur, who passed away in 2022 at the age of 91. Arthur Glassman, a child of the Great Depression, told his son many times in his final days that he had had a “great ride.” The name of the best horse Glassman has owned made perfect sense.
