There was a slight delay in posting the 2025 Preakness Stakes odds (usually released Monday after Kentucky Derby) due Sovereignty's trainer being non-committal about running in the second leg of the Triple Crown.

That said, on Tuesday morning BetOnline.ag felt comfortable enough to post odds with nine runners listed, including Sovereignty.

Sovereignty beat the 3-1 favorite Journalism down the stretch in the slop at Churchill Downs to win the 151st edition of the "Run for the Roses," with the victory Saturday evening snapping an 0-for-13 skid by owner Godolphin.

Bill Mott got his second win at the Kentucky Derby, his first being in 2019, also run on a sloppy track, when Country House was elevated to first place after Maximum Security crossed the finish line ahead of the rest of the field but was disqualified after a 22-minute delay for officials to make the call.

This year's Kentucky Derby was the most trafficked here at Gambling911.com since pre-Covid.

The Derby champ is the favorite to complete the second leg of the TC with 3/2 odds. Here are the current numbers:

Sovereignty                  3/2

Journalism                    5/2
